Z on Coolidge, at 725 Coolidge, is under one mile from Downtown Plymouth, which puts Kellogg Park within walking or biking distance. Twenty-four one- and two-bedroom homes across four buildings, 850 to 1,000 square feet, recently renovated top to bottom in 2026, starting at $1,499. Our other community, Z on Plymouth, is about 3 miles out and is the better fit if you drive everywhere.

The rest of this page is what "under a mile" buys you, and where it does not help.

What is within reach on foot from Z on Coolidge?

Downtown Plymouth is compact, which is why walking distance means anything here. The DDA describes a district of more than 200 business and property owners at roughly 1% vacancy, with $2.8 million put into streetscape. The Chamber of Commerce states downtown has over 75 specialty retailers.

One note on precision: our site describes Z on Coolidge as under a mile from downtown, walking and biking distance. I am not publishing a door-to-door walk time, because I have not measured one from each of the four buildings. Route 725 Coolidge yourself before you tour.

One municipal note, because "near downtown" is a jurisdictional fact here and not just a distance. Z on Coolidge is in the City of Plymouth, the same municipality as Kellogg Park, The Gathering and the DDA district. Z on Plymouth, three miles out, is in Plymouth Charter Township. Same ZIP code, different governments. For a resident at Z on Coolidge that means City trash service, the City's year-round 3 a.m. to 6 a.m. street parking ban under Sec. 70-93, and City snow emergency declarations that ban street parking outright. More in City of Plymouth vs Plymouth Township.

What actually changes when you live under a mile from downtown?

The events stop being a destination and become a default. Music in the Air runs Friday nights at 7 p.m. in Kellogg Park across 14 Fridays each summer, free, sponsored by Bank of Ann Arbor. At three miles that is a drive and a parking decision. Under a mile it is a walk you take because you heard music.

The Plymouth Farmers Market runs Saturdays, May through October, at The Gathering. The DDA lists hours as 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.; the Chamber lists 7:30 a.m. Check before you go.

The rest of the Kellogg Park calendar: the Plymouth Ice Festival, 44th annual in 2026; Art in the Park, July 10 to 12 in 2026; and the Plymouth Fall Festival, September 11 to 13 in 2026.

What is the honest downside of living this close?

The events cut both ways. Ice Festival weekend and Art in the Park bring large crowds into a 2.22 square mile city. Art in the Park's organizer claims roughly 300,000 attendance, the organizer's figure and not an independent count. If you want a quiet July weekend, those are not the ones you get.

Parking is unassigned, one vehicle per tenant, with no garages or carports. Close to downtown does not mean you stop owning a car in a Michigan winter. It means you scrape it less often.

Z on Coolidge has wall unit air conditioning, not central. Z on Plymouth has central air. People usually find that out on a tour rather than a listing page. You should hear it here first.

Neither community has a pool.

Plymouth is car-dependent overall. Downtown is walkable. Getting to work in Livonia, Novi, Canton, or Ann Arbor is not.

Should you pick Z on Coolidge or Z on Plymouth?

Both share one interior spec: white shaker cabinets, quartz countertops, stainless steel appliances, euro-glass stand-up showers, luxury vinyl plank flooring, and in-unit full-size washer and dryer. Both have private outdoor space and a 3D Matterport tour.

The size difference is worth sitting with. Z on Coolidge is 24 units across four buildings, so it is the smaller and quieter of the two, and a smaller community turns over less often. That is a point in its favor if you want a short walk downtown and a point against it if you need something available next month.

Pick Z on Coolidge if the walk to Kellogg Park is why you are moving to Plymouth at all. Pick Z on Plymouth if you drive to work anyway, want central air, want the larger community, and would rather have the distance from festival weekends.

What does it cost and what do you need to qualify?

Up front: a $65 non-refundable application fee per applicant and a $1,000 holding deposit, which is credited toward your total move-in costs rather than charged on top of them. That is $1,065 at application, leaving a balance of $2,598 on a one-bedroom or $3,034 on a two-bedroom at move-in. The cleaning fee and the document preparation fee are one-time charges due at move-in, $475 between them, and neither is a monthly cost. The security deposit of one month's rent is inside that total; it goes higher for challenged credit, capped at one and a half months' rent by Michigan law, and is fully refundable if the unit is returned in original condition. Decisions take two business days.

Those are starting rents at the time of writing. Check the Z on Coolidge availability page for current pricing; third-party listing sites do not always match.

Income requirement is gross monthly income of 2.5x to 3x rent. No strict credit minimum; applications reviewed individually, 625 and above preferred. One-year lease standard. Renters insurance required, both communities 100% smoke-free.
