Kellogg Park sits at West Ann Arbor Trail and South Main in the City of Plymouth. The Downtown Development Authority calls it "the focal point for all the area's civic, social, and commercial activities" and reports over a million annual visitors. It is a designated local historic district and one of the City's 16 parks. The Gathering, the covered pavilion next to it, hosts the Saturday Farmers Market.
Where exactly is Kellogg Park?
At West Ann Arbor Trail and South Main, in the City of Plymouth. That distinction matters: the City and Plymouth Charter Township are separate municipalities sharing the 48170 ZIP code, and this park is in the City. If walkability to it is the point, read the city versus township guide first.

What is The Gathering?
A covered public pavilion adjacent to Kellogg Park, near the library and the Central Parking Deck, maintained by the City of Plymouth Department of Municipal Services.
Its most visible use is the Plymouth Farmers Market, Saturdays May through October, operated by the Plymouth Community Chamber of Commerce. Being covered is the point: a Michigan market running into October needs shelter when the weather turns.
One honest note on the hours. The DDA lists 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The Chamber, which runs the market, lists 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Two official sources, a half hour apart. I am not picking one. Check before you go.
What happens at Kellogg Park during the year?
A remarkable amount for a city of 9,370.
Music in the Air runs 14 free Friday night concerts at 7 p.m. through the summer, sponsored by Bank of Ann Arbor, with none on Art in the Park weekend. Shows are livestreamed on the Downtown Plymouth YouTube channel, and select concerts air on 88.1 The Park.
Art in the Park takes over in July. The 2026 edition was the 46th year, July 10 to 12, with more than 400 artists. The organizer, Art in the Park, Inc., claims roughly 300,000 attendance and calls it Michigan's second largest art fair. Those figures are the organizer's, not independently verified.
The Plymouth Fall Festival runs downtown in September. Founded by the Plymouth Rotary Club, it traces to a 1956 chicken barbecue, and the first official Fall Festival was held at Kellogg Park in 1960. The Plymouth Ice Festival centers on downtown in late January into early February; 2026 was the 44th annual.
The rest of the calendar is in the month-by-month guide.
Why does a park matter when you are choosing an apartment?
Because it is what makes this downtown function as a downtown rather than a retail strip. The DDA district around the park covers more than 200 business and property owners at roughly 1% vacancy, with a $2.8 million streetscape investment behind it.
For a renter, the question is distance. Z on Coolidge is under a mile from downtown, walking or biking distance. Z on Plymouth is about three miles out, described on our site as seven minutes away, which is a short drive but still a drive. On an Art in the Park weekend those are very different situations. See the apartments near downtown page.
What are the honest downsides of living next to Kellogg Park?
Noise, on a schedule. Fourteen Friday nights of amplified music at 7 p.m. Most residents call that a feature. If you work nights or have an infant, it is not.
Parking, on event weekends. The Central Parking Deck is adjacent and everybody knows it. Residents inside the festival footprint run errands on Thursday.
Crowds in a small space. The City has 9,370 residents in 2.22 square miles, a density of 4,236 per square mile. A festival weekend multiplies that.
It is not a quiet park. If green space means somewhere to be alone, this is the wrong one. Plymouth Township Park, 80 acres at 46640 Ann Arbor Trail, and Edward N. Hines Drive's linear park are better for solitude.
