Plymouth-Canton Community Schools operates 14 elementary schools, 5 middle schools, three high schools on a single 305-acre campus, and one alternative high school. Most Plymouth addresses are in PCCS. Not all are. Confirm your specific address using the Wayne County RESA School District and Attendance Locator before you sign, because no landlord or listing site can do it for you.

That caveat is the most important sentence here, so it goes first rather than last.

Which schools does Plymouth-Canton Community Schools operate?

Elementary (14)Bentley, Bird, Dodson, Eriksson, Farrand, Field, Gallimore, Hoben, Hulsing, Isbister, Miller, Smith, Tonda, Workman

PCCS serves most of Plymouth Charter Township and Canton Township, plus portions of Salem Township, Superior Township in Washtenaw County, and Northville Township. That is a large, irregular footprint crossing a county line, which is why address-level verification matters.

What is the Plymouth-Canton Educational Park?

This is the part of the district that genuinely surprises people. The Plymouth-Canton Educational Park, usually called P-CEP, is a 305-acre campus in Canton Township that holds three separate high schools on one site. It is described as the only educational park of its kind in Michigan.

They are three schools, not three buildings of one school. Each has its own name, identity, and mascot. They share one campus.

What that means in practice:

Scale. A 305-acre high school campus is closer in footprint to a small college than to a conventional high school. Students move between buildings.

Identity. Your student is assigned to one of the three by address and district assignment, not preference. Another reason to verify rather than assume.

Shared programs. The campus supports programs at a scale a single high school usually cannot. Lightning Robotics won the FRC World Championship in 2017. The student radio station, WSDP, broadcasts as 88.1 The Park, which also carries select Music in the Air concerts from Kellogg Park.

It is in Canton Township. The high schools are not in Plymouth. If you pictured a walk to school, picture a bus or a drive.

How do renters verify which school serves their address?

Use the Wayne County RESA School District and Attendance Locator and enter the exact street address, not the ZIP code and not the city name. The cleanest way to reach it is through Plymouth-Canton Community Schools' own enrollment page, pccsk12.com/enrollment/boundariesmaps, which links the locator along with the district's boundary maps. We send you there rather than to a direct locator link because district tools get moved and a dead link at lease-signing time is worse than one extra click.

Some outlying Plymouth Township addresses may fall outside PCCS. A "Plymouth, MI 48170" mailing address does not tell you which school district you are in, and it does not even tell you which municipality you are in, because the City of Plymouth and Plymouth Charter Township are two separate governments sharing that ZIP code. Our own two communities sit in different ones: Z on Plymouth is in the Township, Z on Coolidge is in the City. See City of Plymouth vs Plymouth Township.

A one-year lease is standard at most Plymouth communities, including ours. If you sign on a wrong assumption about school assignment, you live with it for twelve months. Then do the second check: contact PCCS enrollment directly to confirm the assignment and current requirements. Boundaries change. Locators lag.

Are there private school options in Plymouth?

Yes. Two private schools in Plymouth are Spiritus Sanctus Academy and New Morning School. We are not publishing tuition, enrollment, or program detail for either, because we have not verified any. Contact them directly.

Do renters pay school taxes in Plymouth?

Not directly. Property taxes are billed to the owner. In Plymouth Charter Township, the 2025 total millage on a principal residence is 32.4045 mills, down slightly from 32.5224 in 2024. Non-principal-residence property adds 18 mills. Levying bodies on that bill include Plymouth-Canton Schools, Schoolcraft College, State Education, Wayne RESA, Wayne County, the Township, the library, parks, and cultural institutions.

As a renter you never see that bill. It is embedded in what your landlord charges, like every other ownership cost.

The City of Plymouth's 2026 total millage is 36.7809 mills for a principal residence and 54.7809 mills for a non-principal residence. A 2026 city-versus-township comparison is not possible, because the Township's 2026 total is not yet published. On a 2025-to-2025 basis the City was 40.9761 principal and 58.9761 non-principal, against the Township's 32.4045 and 50.4045.

What should renters be realistic about?

Coverage is not universal. Most Plymouth addresses are in PCCS. Some outlying Township addresses may not be. Verify.

The high schools are in Canton, not Plymouth. P-CEP's 305 acres are in Canton Township. Factor transportation in.

We are not ranking these schools. Rating sites assign a number to every building in the district. We have not verified any of those ratings and will not repeat them. Visit the schools.

Boundaries and enrollment rules change. What was true last year for a neighbor's address does not substitute for checking yours this year.

Where do renters with school-age kids usually land?

Both of our communities offer one- and two-bedroom homes at 850 to 1,000 square feet. There are no three-bedroom units.

Z on Plymouth, 40275 Plymouth Road, has 80 units across two stories, 50 one-bedrooms and 30 two-bedrooms, with central air conditioning, private decks, and in-unit full-size laundry. Z on Coolidge, 725 Coolidge, is 24 units across four buildings under a mile from Downtown Plymouth, with wall unit air conditioning rather than central. Starting rents at the time of writing were $1,499 for a one-bedroom and $1,699 for a two-bedroom. Check the availability page for current pricing.
